English Lenguaje Challenges

Imagen
Hello everyone, again! how about the end of the semester? I hope I'm being really good for you <3 Today I will talk to you about the challenges I have faced learning English during my time at the university. At the beginning of the degree, I had to take an English test, which measured the skills I had for the language and according to the results they assigned the level of English that I should take or if I was exempted from English (as you can see, I did not exempt myself hahaha). Last year I started in English Pre-Intermediate A, that level of English was very similar to the one I learned in school, only it made me develop my skills better since they allowed to apply them. Then, in the English Beginner A course, they made me use blogs, as in this level of English, the truth is that I really like the idea, I feel that, in this modality (online), it helps a lot to know what our colleagues want to do, their interests, favorite places or what they want to do in the future. Changes on My Studdy Programme

Imagen
Hello everyone again, how are you? This time I will tell you a little about the changes I would make in my career program, its duration, academic load and some more information. The career of Psychology at the University of Chile has a duration of 10 academic semesters, during the day. The most interesting subjects that I have taken so far have been "psychology" and "psychobiology" in the first semester, "basic psychological processes", "personality psychology" and "basic learning processes" in the second semester, and in the In the third semester that I am taking at the moment, all the subjects have seemed entertaining. As for changes in the study program, I would eliminate "philosophy" and "epistemology of the social sciences" in the first year, since in the third semester there is a fairly similar field that is "psychological theories and systems". It would also eliminate the "general training c

Postgraduate Studies

Hello everyone again, how are you? As I mentioned in the previous blog, I would very much like that in the future I could work in the area of child psychology. So I would like to do a master's degree in psychology, with a major in child-adolescent clinical psychology. I would like to do this postgraduate course at the University of Chile, I would like to take it in parallel with my work at that time and hopefully it would be in-person. Which has a duration of 4 semesters. The reason why the area draws my attention is because the childhood and youth stages are really important for the development of people, in all areas. In addition, the first years of life are crucial to achieving good mental health. In this way, it could contribute to making the quality of life we have in our country a little better. With this course I could carry out clinical interventions, research in the area of evolutionary psychopathology, psychological treatment, prevention and mental health, and abuse

My Future Job

Imagen
Hello everyone again! This time I will talk about the job that I would like to have in the future, being in my second year of my degree in Psychology at the University of Chile. The truth is, it is difficult to be completely clear about the area in which I would like to develop my career, I suppose the fact that I have never had face-to-face classes at the university has a lot to do with it. Despite this, I am very interested in the area of child psychology and I think I will specialize in something related to it, because I feel that childhood is a fundamental stage for the development of the human being, and at the same time, they are the basis for there are real changes in people's mental health in the future. The truth is that I would like the patient to decide that the therapy could be carried out both outdoors and indoors. I would also very much like to travel to give therapy in different parts of the world, and to know the different contexts in which patients are immersed.

What's like to study psychology?

Hello again, this time I will talk about the career I study, which is psychology. Since I was in school I liked the area of neuroscience, that's why I researched and discovered that psychology covered the area that interested me well, that's why I decided to study psychology after graduating from college. Studying psychology online is quite entertaining, but I imagine not as much as it would be in person. It was not that difficult to cope with the race, I think it is because we have not had branches that are practical. I never thought that I would study at an online university, I am in my second year of my degree and I still do not know my faculty or my classmates, that is very sad :( Actually I think I'm not the one to recommend studying psychology or an online career. Personally, it has not been that difficult for me but I find it difficult to organize myself with the times, I have many things to do apart from studying so it is a bit complicated. In any case, I would sa

Health problems related to a lockdown

Hello again, this time I will talk about some mental health problems that the quarantine has brought to society in general and to me personally. The quarantine that we have lived through since approximately March 2020 has affected people a lot, so much so that it has created mental health problems for most of society. One of the problems that has most affected people in general has been the stress and anxiety that this confinement has brought, so much so that 54.8% of the population declares that they have felt more anxious or stressed in this quarantine. Personally, the pandemic has affected me a lot since I suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and with the confinement and the few distractions from the routine it has made it more difficult than usual to cope with it. Despite that, I try to do yoga, play video games, cook, and video chat with my friends. The pandemic has meant a lot to me since I have not been able to attend my first years of university in person, I have not been

The Best Holdays Ever

The truth is that it is difficult for me to say what the best vacations I have ever had, since every summer we spend it as a family in our summer house on the beach of Pichidangui. However, I think the best vacations were in the summer of 2019 during January and February, that year we decided to tour the south of Chile for three weeks. We went to Los Saltos del Petrohué in Puerto Varas, we also went to Chiloé and toured a large part of the island, another place we went to was Lake Caburgua. In Caburgua we rode jet skis, we visited the tourist places, we also went to the Pucón casino and we had a lot of fun! These vacations were the best since we visited our relatives in Caburgua and in that place we had a great time because we had not shared with them for a long time. I think that a moment that I will always remember from those vacations was when we met again with our relatives, it was really emotional.
